Harvest Moon®: Echoes of Teradea Interlude: the Sand Sea
Last updated 2026-10-18. Checked against the sources below.
Maplehill can be reached through the Sand Sea or Lava Caverns. The desert route starts north of Tidewind, crosses shallow water, and leads through Fall Crossing Valley. A camel helps explore sand rivers but is not required for the walking route.
From the coast to Maplehill
- Leave Tidewind’s Pier Plaza eastward, then go north along Tidewind Corridor to Starfall Beach and Tidewind Campground.
- Cross the shallow Meridian of the Great Sea west of the campground toward Castaway Coast.
- Without a camel, use the Sand Trap Area northwest of Desert Campground. Head east to the east-flowing sand river, then north along the desert’s eastern side.
- Avoid quicksand and jaguars. At the third sand-trap section, do not walk between the two pits: continue east and circle the pit instead.
- Continue into Fall Crossing Valley and toward Maplehill Town.

Clothing and camel limits
| Preparation | Effect or cost |
|---|---|
| Tidewind Village Clothing | Art sells it for 5 Fabric and 8000 G. Heat protection, not protection from cold desert nights. |
| Dromedary Camel | Crosses sand rivers; slows in the desert after 19:00. Requires barn space. |
| Food or recovery companion | Helps manage stamina loss from daytime heat and nighttime cold. |
