Harvest Moon®: Echoes of Teradea Why Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons split
Last updated 2026-10-18. Checked against the sources below.
Harvest Moon®: Echoes of Teradea is not a Story of Seasons game. Natsume dates the first North American Harvest Moon release to 1997. On 28 May 2014, XSEED announced Story of Seasons as the North American name for Marvelous’s Bokujō Monogatari: Tsunagaru Shintenchi. Today, the two names identify different product lines.
The timeline
| Date | What the source establishes |
|---|---|
| 1997 | First North American Harvest Moon release, according to Natsume’s official series history |
| 28 May 2014 | XSEED announced Story of Seasons for the Marvelous-developed Bokujō Monogatari game; this is an announcement date, not its North American release date |
| 2026 | Echoes of Teradea’s official store credits Natsume / IMAGICA GEEQ and identifies Harvest Moon as Natsume’s trademark |

Why Chinese and Japanese pages care
In Chinese, 牧场物语 usually means Story of Seasons. Calling this game 牧场物语:特拉迪亚的回响 points at the wrong company. Steam’s simplified Chinese text uses 特拉底亚 for the place name and does not rebrand the game as Story of Seasons. In Japanese, 牧場物語 is the Marvelous series. This game’s Japanese support is a language option, not a sign that Marvelous published it.
Source checks
On 18 October 2026, Natsume’s official collector’s announcement and XSEED’s dated Story of Seasons announcement were checked. They establish the 1997 North American debut and the 2014 naming announcement, not a verified contractual termination date. The current PlayStation listing identifies Natsume and IMAGICA GEEQ and marks Harvest Moon as Natsume’s trademark.
